Welcome to PRZ – Public Rental Zone. Below you'll find answers to common questions about our rental policies.

1. What is the minimum age to rent a vehicle?

You must be at least 21 years old to rent a vehicle in BC.

2. Is there a fee for drivers under 25?

Yes, a Young Driver Fee of $19.99/day applies for renters aged 21 to 24.

3. What documents are required?

• Valid driver’s license
• Government-issued photo ID
• Credit card for deposit
• Debit and cash accepted with fee and deposit (see below)

4. Are debit cards or cash accepted?

Yes. Debit and cash payments are accepted with:

• Daily administrative fee
• $1,000–$3,000 refundable deposit

5. What are the insurance options?

Premium Insurance – CA$39.99/day

• Protection against theft, vandalism, and collision
• Max out-of-pocket: CA$1,000
• Damage coverage up to vehicle value
• Up to CA$1 million liability coverage

Standard Insurance – CA$34.99/day

• Max out-of-pocket: CA$2,000 for at-fault damage
• Third-party liability: CA$200,000
• Includes medical, rehabilitation, and hit-and-run protection

6. How many kilometers are included?

Standard rentals include 300 km/day. You can add Unlimited KM for $19.99/day. Promotional rentals may include unlimited KM by default.

7. Are additional drivers allowed?

Yes. Additional drivers must meet all requirements and be present at pickup. An additional driver fee always applies.

8. What is the late return policy?

- 15-minute grace period
- After 15 mins: hourly charges apply (up to 2 hours)
- After 2 hours: full-day rate applies

9. Can I drive outside BC or into the USA?

Out-of-Province Fee: $29.99/day
Out-of-Country (USA) Fee: $29.99/day – includes trips to Seattle, Portland, etc.

10. Smoke-Free Vehicle Policy

All vehicles are non-smoking. Smoking of any kind (tobacco, cannabis, vapes) will result in a cleaning fee up to CA$450 + tax.

11. Pet Policy

Pets must be transported in carriers. Vehicles must be returned clean. Excessive hair, odors, or stains may result in a cleaning fee up to CA$250 + tax. Service animals are permitted but cleanliness is still required.
